Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala

ESTABLISHMENT

The Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala is an association of different organizations and individuals working for the development of Nepal Bhasa, literature and culture. It was established in 1979 at the initiative of Chakala Dabu, a cultural and social organization of Chhetrapati. The Manka Khala is based in Kathmandu and maintains offices at Thaymadu and Chhetrapati.

OBJECTIVES

The Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala's main objective is to seek equal rights for Nepal Bhasa and the Newar community under the principle of equal rights for all the languages and communities of Nepal. The Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala endeavors to preserve and develop the community, language, literature, art, culture and script.

ORGANIZATION

The Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala consists of general and associate members. The executive body is responsible for its day-to-day functioning. The President is the head of the executive body whose members are elected by the general convention. The current President is Padma Ratna Tuladhar. The Secretary is Naresh Bir Shakya.
